Rianne Tegelaar’s work is rooted in a desire to slow down, exploring how time takes shape, shifts, and dissolves. She moves between memory, perception, and imagination, seeking moments in which time becomes briefly visible and tangible. This fragile boundary also reflects her experience as a mother, witnessing her children exist on the edge of a time not yet defined. In her work, she seeks to preserve that state through a visual language of light, transparency, and layering, using materials such as glass and the Japanese Toyobo printmaking technique. The resulting works resist fixation, unfolding as echoes of a time that cannot be held, carrying a quiet awareness of transience.
