JOJTEK Atelier is the practice of a maker whose work is rooted in a deep understanding of nature, wood, and form. Founded by Wojciech Jackowski, a furniture designer and maker with a background in violin making, the studio conducts ongoing research into sculptural furniture, each piece emerging from a process that begins with a prompt of generative AI and reclaimed wood. Where generative AI begins with a field of digital noise and gradually refines it using learned patterns and filters to reveal a coherent image, the maker organizes a pile of discarded wood and storm-felled trees, using tools and knowledge to assemble it into a piece of furniture.
This work bridges digital imagery and physical craft, combining AI-generated sketches with raw materials. Each piece is handcrafted using traditional tools and machines, utilizing the maker’s background as a violin builder.
At its core, Jojtek Atelier is driven by a belief that objects carry meaning. Through thoughtful making and an emphasis on longevity, the studio seeks to create pieces that not only serve a purpose but also tell a story of transformation, a connection to material, and the distinct visual ideas behind each work.
Sustainability and responsibility underpin the practice. By working with reclaimed materials and committing to replanting trees for every finished piece, the atelier embeds restoration into its process. Jojtek Atelier ultimately proposes a way of making in which innovation and tradition do not compete, but instead reinforce one another.
