GLUE began in Amsterdam: a design route that connects designers, architects, brands and makers with each other, and with everyone who loves what they make. It grew into a fixed point on the city's creative calendar, with established names and emerging talent on the same route.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED...
In May 2026, GLUE came to Utrecht. For three days, close to 100 designers, studios and makers opened their doors at around 30 locations across the city, from their own studios and showrooms to monumental buildings that are usually closed to the public.
WHERE IT'S GOING...
GLUE Utrecht started in 2025 to give design in Utrecht a stage: curated exhibitions, in places you wouldn't expect. Two editions later, the route links group exhibitions in the city's historic buildings with showrooms, galleries and studios across Utrecht. From 21 to 23 May 2027, our third edition brings it all together again.
For three days, the design route takes you across the city, from HUBs in places like the Centraal Museum, De Fundatie and the Neude library to designers and brands presenting their work along the way. Every exhibition is selected and put together with care, so each stop shows something worth seeing. Come and see what Utrecht's designers are making now, and meet the people behind it.
Utrecht is full of creative talent, but much of it stays out of sight. GLUE Utrecht wants to change that. We select, combine and present: designers, makers, architects and brands side by side, emerging talent next to established names. That is how we build a bridge between design and the wider public, and where new collaborations begin.
GLUE doesn't stop when the route closes. Throughout the year we host the Designer Café, visit studios and bring our community together, so the conversations that start in May carry on until the next edition.
