NOVEL GREY - SHAPING THE FUTURE OF SPACES THROUGH SUSTAINABLE CONCRETE DESIGNS: LUXURY WALL TILES AND BESPOKE WALL DECORATIONS
Novel Grey is een materiaalgedreven ontwerpstudio die handgemaakte 3D-wandtegels en op maat gemaakte wanddecoraties creëert. De kern van het werk in de studio is het recyclen van industriële materialen. Oprichters Marjolein en Jan-Paul Deurloo hebben een innovatieve manier gevonden om industrieel betonafval opnieuw te gebruiken, waardoor de CO₂-uitstoot in het productieproces tot wel 76% wordt verminderd vergeleken met traditionele tegelproductie. Door innovatieve technieken te combineren met een circulaire visie laat Novel Grey zien hoe bouwafval kan worden omgezet in hoogwaardige, esthetisch opvallende ontwerpen.
Novel Grey heeft twee collecties gelanceerd: Chapter 1, die wordt gekenmerkt door gedurfde 3D-vormen en geometrische patronen, en Chapter 2, een lichtere collectie die zich richt op het creëren van een subtiel reliëf dat naadloos opgaat in ruimtes. Novel Grey ontwerpt ook op maat gemaakte collecties voor specifieke projecten.
Tijdens GLUE Utrecht 2025 presenteert Novel Grey een unieke serie kunstwerken in samenwerking met de internationaal gerenommeerde, Utrechtse interieurarchitect Remy Meijers.

Novel Grey is a material-driven design studio that creates handmade 3D wall tiles and bespoke wall decorations. At the core of the studio’s design practice is the recycling of industrial materials. Founders Marjolein and Jan-Paul Deurloo found an innovative way to reuse industrial concrete waste, reducing up to 76% CO₂ emissions in the production process compared to traditional tile manufacturing. By combining innovative techniques with a circular vision, Novel Grey demonstrates how construction waste can be transformed into high-end, aesthetically striking designs.
Novel Grey’s launched two collections, Chapter 1, which is characterized by its bold 3D shapes and geometric pattern. Chapter 2 is a lighter collection focusing on creating a light relief that seamlessly blends into spaces. Novel Grey also creates bespoke collections for made-to-measure projects.
During GLUE Utrecht 2025, Novel Grey presents a unique series of artworks in collaboration with internationally acclaimed, Utrecht-based interior architect Remy Meijers.
