Jackie Sleper (1962) has been making work for forty years in which she (re)discovers beauty and fights injustice.
Jackie Sleper is an interdisciplinary artist with an inexhaustible urge to create. Her work, which ranges from collages and sculptures to installations, is characterised by precision, bright colours, unexpected materials and layered themes. Jackie draws inspiration from nature, culture and powerful female figures, such as Frida Kahlo, Niki de Saint Phalle and Josephine Baker, and often collaborates with artisans to bring her vision to life.
She creates art that invites reflection on freedom, vulnerability and the relationship between man and nature. Jackie's creative process is intense, from sketch to execution, even shaping entire worlds, such as her holistic art projects on estates in the Netherlands and France. With her work, she wants to break down boundaries, inspire people to spiritual freedom and call attention to the fragility of flora, fauna and heritage. Jackie is a woman with a mission and an unlimited imagination.
